Call for Papers

It is now less than a year away from our historic joint meeting of the American Society of Sugar Beet Technologists and the International Institute for Beet Research.  As I mentioned in my last newsletter, to accommodate this joint meeting, some adjustments will have to be made this year.  The first is that you will find the call for papers enclosed in this mailing.  This is considerably earlier than in the past.  The Joint Program Committee will be meeting in later August to put together the technical program.  The technical program will be similar to past ASSBT meetings, with the same Sections.  The difference will be that we will not have concurrent Agriculture Sessions.  The Operations Sections will operate as usual.  This means that we have space for a total of approximately 56 oral papers in the Agriculture, 14 papers per Section.  The Program Committee will organize these between ASSBT and IIRB papers.  There will be a much-expanded Poster Session, allowing for accommodation of all submitted papers.  Therefore, as you submit your Title Submission Form, please indicate if you prefer paper presentation or poster presentation, but remember, the program committee will make the final decision.  As usual, the Title Submission Form must be accompanied by a short abstract.  The deadline for submission is June 14th, this will allow for distribution to all Program Committee Members prior to the August meeting.  Following the Program Committee Meeting, you will be notified if your paper will be in the oral or poster session, and further instructions will be provided concerning details for both oral and poster presentations.
